Welcome to the Hamden, CT Town Clerk's Vital Statistics online ordering system. Requests will be processed Monday-Friday: 8:45 AM - 4:15 PM.  The Hamden Town Clerk's Office processes orders within 2 business days, excluding weekends and holidays, once all information is available.


In Hamden, The Town Clerk and Assistant Town Clerks are the Registrar and Assistant Registrar's of Vital Statistics. The principal statutory provisions relating to these duties are found in Sections 7-36 through 7-76 and 19a-42 of the Connecticut General Statutes.  Only a Registrar of Vital Statistics or the Commissioner of Public Health may issue certified copies of birth, marriage, death, or fetal death certificates.


Notarized copies of vital records have no legal status (CGS 7-62a).



Birth Certificates 

  • A copy of your birth certificate is on file in the town in which you were born, and in the town in which your mother lived at the time of your birth.  For all Births occurring after 2003 you may access from any Town within the State of Connecticut.


Death Certificates 

  • We process certified copies of deaths for individuals that have passed away in or were residents of Hamden, CT at the time of their death.


Marriage Certificates 

  • Certified copies of marriages that occurred in Hamden, CT, or if either spouse was a resident when the marriage took place.

Order must be submitted by 12:00 PM (noon) to be shipped out day same day.


Standard Shipping is through the USPS.  Please allow 5-7 Business days for your order to be processed and the document delivered.  


You will be asked to select the method of receiving the certificates during the application. You will be notified by us once we have processed your application and the certificates are out for mail or ready for pickup.
